Please take a moment to consider signing on to HAP’s Statement on the “Discriminatory Health Coverage and Visa Process for Palestinian and Sudanese Individuals Arriving in Canada“.
This letter is addressed to Canadian government officials including the Prime Minister, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship and Ministers of Health. We call attention to the disparity between the Canada-Ukraine Authorized for Emergency Travel (CUAET) program and the inadequate pathways available to Palestinians from Gaza, as well as Sudanese people. There are six key demands outlined at the end of the letter that we believe will promote more equitable treatment and access.
We invite the following individuals and organizations across so-called Canada to sign the following statement:
– Individuals and organizations in health
– Individuals and organization in law and policy
– Individuals and organizations in immigrant and refugee work
– Individuals and organizations in academia
– Individuals and organizations in spiritual & faith leadership
– Community organizations (grassroots, advocacy, cultural, student groups, faith based, etc.)
We hope you will consider signing this letter. We are at a critical moment urging us to act quickly to support people impacted by war and genocide.
