Dr. Askalan is Founder and CEO of the Palestinian Center of Excellence for Brain Development (Takween). A centre that is the first of its kind in Palestine. She is a Pediatric Neurologist and Neuroscientist with extensive experience combining scientific research, clinical practice and leadership. She devoted her career to care for children with neurological disorders and to bringing excellence in child neurologic care to Palestine. She will speak about current health conditions in Palestine and the challenges of providing complex essential care particularly to children under Apartheid.
