HAP hosted its first webinar on October 12, 2022
Since the Nakba in 1948, Palestinians have endured unthinkable oppression under Israeli occupation that has affected every facet of their lives, not least of which their health. As a war-surgeon in Gaza during the many Israeli wars on the besieged strip, Dr. Abu-Sittah has first-hand experience of the targeting of hospitals, mass civilian causalities and loss of limb. This is in addition to the mental and physical health toll of ongoing war, home demolitions, imprisonment and siege. Using his surgical and academic lens, Dr. Abu-Sittah will tell the story of the Palestinians who remain steadfast and resilient against overwhelming physical, economic and psychological violence.
